6 Issues that surfaced in the interviews: PERSONAL LEVEL LOVE: care and attachment in the family EQUALITY: equal relationships in the family (also distribution of care/labour) OPENESS:openness with the child/children on all issues (NON)ANONYMITY: balancing the role of the second biological parent IDENTITY:clash of roles, identities: lesbian-gay/parent

7 PUBLIC LEVEL INVISIBILITY: invisibility of the social parent families as a whole not visible COMMUNITY: the importance of a network of support (lgbt families network, personal network) INCLUSION: demand for equality of families on the level of everyday life PRENTING SKILLS: responsibility to prepare children for the everyday challenges »NORMALITY«: the concept of 'sameness' with different-sex families BEING OUT: being out as affirmative action
