2. What is Cancer?  (Standard 5.b, Cancer)  STATE STANDARD: 5. The anatomy and physiology of plants and animals illustrate the complementary nature of structure and function.  5.b. organ systems function because of the contribution of individual organs, tissues, and cells. The failure of any part can affect the entire systems.

3. What is Cancer?  A mutation changes the DNA causing cells to multiply uncontrollably forming a tumor & killing healthy tissues around it.

4. What is Cancer?  Two kinds of tumors…  Malignant = spreading tumor into other tissues (cancerous) BAD  Benign = non cancerous tumor. GOOD
