Dress In A Clean, Conservative Manner

The Initial Greeting Can Make or Break Your Interview. Utilize a firm handshake Employ direct eye contact Offer a pleasant greeting o “It’s a pleasure to meet you, sir.” o “I’ve been looking forward to this meeting.”

Do Your Homework! Research some personal information about the person with whom you are interviewing, and then use this information to impress your interviewer. For example: Mr. Schilling’s son: “Isn’t your son at William and Mary? How does he like it there?” Mr. Cleffi’s daughter: “I understand your daughter just starting teaching at the Hills. How does she like it so far?”

Know the company, and why you want to work there. Learn as much as you can about the company's mission, objectives, goals, and future plans. You will be asked: “Why do you want to work for this company?” Make sure your answer matches the company’s philosophy.

Express Passion for the Position

Ask Questions! At the end of the interviewer be sure to ask a few specific questions to reinforce your interest. Selfish Questions: Selfless Questions: How much will I make? How many personal or vacation days do I get? Do we have to work on Christmas Eve? What time does my day end? Do we get bonuses? Is my salary attached to my sales record? What time should I report to work? Is there an opportunity for growth here? How many years of service does your average employee have?

It's easy to send an email, but take the time to mail your interviewer a hand written thank you note. It shows that you have class, and continues to reinforce your interest in the job.
