3 * At first were prisons to imprison “Enemies of the State.” * Included the “Inferior”. * Prisons were normally located outside of urban areas.

4 * In March 1938 the Nazis began to arrest all Austrian and German Jews. * They were placed in prisons that were located in Germany.

5 * Nazi doctors began to conduct experiments on some of the prisoner. * Nazi doctors from different camps would compete with one another to see who could conduct the best experiments. * 1939, labor camps were invented. * Ghettos started to clear out.

6 * Defined: the deliberate and systematic destruction of an entire race. * After 1941, the majority of the labor camps soon became death camps. * Workers were either worked to death or executed in gas chambers. * Aushwitz at its peak 8,000 gassed a day.
