Bhagavad Gita Bendall and Foden

BHAGAVAD GOD GITA SONG

KEY POINTS The essence of Hinduism Spiritual wisdom from ancient India Composed as a poem Related to Indian intellectual and spiritual tradition Written between 400 BCE and 200 CE Authorship is unclear

How can someone live a life spiritually meaningful without withdrawing from society? What can someone who does not want to give up family and social obligations do to live the right way?

It aims to allow the reader and follower to keep things such as family without jeopardising their goal to achieve Moksha. A perfect example to illustrate this would be Monks and how they shut off from their life to concentrate on meditation however Bhagavad Gita shows how you can keep materials and instead focus on meditation and living a calm life still achieving the aim of Moksha.

The story… Based on two cousins fighting for the throne Pandavas and Kauravas They meet on a battlefield to end conflict and decide to will gain the throne The battle takes place in Kurukshetra

… Arjuna leader of the Pandavas, becomes emotional and decides he does not want to fight anymore His chariot driver Vishnu (manifesting as Krishna) persuades him to not abandon his duties Krishna essentially shows Arjuna he will not get bad karma for his actions in the war

YOU WERE NEVER BORN; YOU WILL NEVER DIE. YOU HAVE NEVER CHANGED; YOU CAN NEVER CHANGE. BHAGAVAD GITA
