The Objective To learn the value of all types of musical notes within a musical piece To learn how to write the musical notes within a musical piece also known as working on musical penmanship To learn how to separate each note within a measure as well as keeping the amount given within the musical time signature To analyze how many notes can equal to the amount of another To understand that knowing the note values will help someone read, write as compose music

The Grand Staff All notes are placed on both parts of the grand staff which are also known as the musical lines. Although the values primarily depend on the time signature, most people commonly use 4/4.
