ALBA is the new synchrotron located in Cerdanyola del Vallès, near Barcelona. It is in the construction phase.

These projects represent an approach in which local development of accelerator technology is not central. They are aimed to provide a wide comunity of users with a light source. All the components of the machine are on formal bid mostly to european companies
