Current Status of AIRE

8 Data Processing Servers, with 20 Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron CPUs, 22GB memory and 7TB hard disks. Fast Internet Connection to the outside data centers (download 200~600GB/Day from single data center). 5~30 online users. 18 collaborative research projects.

Scientific Results Highlights II Optimization of interferometric array configurations by ``sieving'' u - v points Su, Y.; Nan, R. D.; Peng, B.; Roddis, N.; Zhou, J. F. Astronomy & Astrophysics 414, 389 – 397 (2004) Fu-Yan Bian, Yu-Qing Lou, Xiao-Feng Wang, Yang Yang, Tsinghua Center for Astrophysics (THCA), Tsinghua University, Beijing , China and Yu-Lei Qiu, National Astronomical Observatories of China (NAOC), report the discovery of an apparent new supernova of about mag 17.4 on unfiltered archival CCD images taken on 2005 December UT using the 0.8-m THCA-NAOC Telescope (TNT) during the THCA Supernova Survey. The candidate supernova was located at R.A. = 09h08m42s.33, Decl. = 44o48'51".4 (equinox ), which is 5".9 west and 13".3 north of the center of the galaxy UGC Nothing was visible at the location of the new object on our TNT template images obtained on December 13, November 25, November 13, and October 31, The limiting magnitude of November 25 can reach 18.5 mag. We confirmed this object on 2005 December UT and the magnitude of the object on unfiltered CCD was about 17.3 mag.
