SURVEY RESULTS from November 15, % have visited wetlands in West Eugene 73% favor some form of mitigation 51% prefer the cost of preservation to be a combination of public and private sources People prefer a mitigation that enhances and restores wetlands

OUR SCENARIO 185 acres of land are developed *Developers will pay a tax toward a preservation fund for remaining land 1185 acres of land are preserved for a state park *Remaining money needed will be provided by environmental agencies and state government
STATE PARK Pros Large area for fishing, hiking, canoeing, and camping Wildlife preservation Natural filter for pollutants running out of Eugene Setting an example for similar situations in other communities Cons Industrial development will be somewhat restricted Some tax money may be required for preservation of the park
