CONJUNCTIVITIS: PINKEYE By Erika Scheiber

What is pinkeye?  Pinkeye is when the white part of your eye gets infected turning it red instead of white. Sometimes with pinkeye our eyelids will become bigger than they normally are, making our eyes look sick.

Causes and symptoms of pinkeye  Swollen eye lids.  Yellow goop coming out of one or both of your eyes.  Itchy and watery eyes.  Can be bacteria infection or viral Infection  A doctor will give you an antibiotic that will make the pinkeye go away. Signs and SymptomsCauses of pinkeye

What does pinkeye look like?  Normal eye  Eye with pinkeye

How can I get pinkeye?  Touching someone else's eye than touching your own eye.  Not properly washing our hands.  Giving a tight hug or kiss on the cheek to our friends.  Giving our friends butterfly kisses.  Sharing things that touch our eyes like eye medicines or glasses.

How can I keep pinkeye away from me?  Washing your hands very good is the first step

Other ways to keep pinkeye away!  Keeping our fingers away from our eyes and our friends eyes.  Cleaning toys that we often touch.  Not sharing anything that touches our eye or our friends eyes.  Have an adult keep you home and take you to see a doctor if your eye is red, itchy and goopy.
