Priority Help our Membership Expand Their Perception of What Is Public Works

Expand Perception Encourage other “public works” type units to participate in National Public Works Week

Expand Perception Examine education programs, publications, and offerings to encourage participation from:  Parks and recreation departments  Utilities  Contractors  Airport authorities & aviation departments  Transportation units (including state DOTs) and Transit authorities  Federal agencies (including US Army Corps of Engineers)  City and community planning departments & agencies  Metropolitan & regional planning organizations  Tribal nations

Expand Perception National Membership Committee has pursued: Membership video with any audience in mind “APWA 101” session at this Membership Summit

Expand Perception National Membership Committee is working on: Trade shows promoting the association, educational opportunities, products and publications, and exhibit opportunities Outreach to non-traditional entities in our new “1 st Time Member offer” campaign Researching contacts for military base and college campus personnel with responsibility for fleet and facilities Expansion of membership to military, college/universities and other large institutions Liaison with Diversity Committee’s “Generational Issues” sub- committee Encouraging existing group memberships to… look within and look outside
