WHAT’S NEW? En Route Last Year Last Year –Developed and implemented a generic interface for the Weather Information Network System –Developed an optimized WARP product to remove AP and clutter on En Route Radar screens (ECP-20) Next Year Next Year –Deploy the WARP upgrade ECP-20 –Lots of acquisition documentation and investment analysis work

WHAT’S NEW? Terminal Then and Now Then and Now –Integrated Terminal Weather System (ITWS) - 11 systems installed by the end of 2004 with 2 planned for 2005 –Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR) - providing TDWR radar information to NWS to augment NEXRAD –Weather System Processor (WSP) - 33 installations with 31 commissioned, 3 in operational readiness and 1 (Tucson) to be installed

WHAT’S NEW? Terminal (…con’t) –Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) new processors replaced, 128 new Dew Point sensors, working on ice free wind sensors and new ceilometers, and new software –Automated Weather Sensor System (AWSS) - Same as ASOS…. Installed 13 systems this year, with 8 more planned for 2005

WHAT’S NEW? Terminal (…con’t) –Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) - FAA is testing new ceilometers and visibility sensor to improve reporting capability and availability –Stand Alone Weather System (SAWS) - Installed 65 sites as of September with another 56 projects funded; expect to install another in 2005

WHAT’S NEW? Traffic Management Last Year Last Year –Added NavCanada RADAR to the Corridor Weather Information System; Expanded displays to Minneapolis and Kansas City Next Year Next Year –Add winter precipitation to products to CIWS suite –Plan SWIM CWIS connection Lots of individual product improvements too numerous to mention Lots of individual product improvements too numerous to mention

WHAT’S NEW? Flight Service Last Year Last Year –Added collaborative convective Forecast product to the Flight Service Automation System at 16 sites –Added Hurricane Tracking for Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans Next Year Next Year –Add current icing potential Product Then WHO CAN SAY? We expect GREAT THINGS TO BEGIN! Then WHO CAN SAY? We expect GREAT THINGS TO BEGIN!
