Mar-16 © Silicon Image, Inc. CONFIDENTIAL Agenda Introduction of Silicon Image Why Advanced Planning and GOP Implementation facts Phase approach

Mar-16 © Silicon Image, Inc. CONFIDENTIAL About Silicon Image Fables Semiconductor based in Sunnyvale, Ca employees at 275 million revenue (Estimate 2006) Oracle Application Live May 2002 Current release modules included: –Finance (GL, AP, AR, FA, CASH and ICM) –Manufacturing (WIP, OSFM, ASCP, BOM, COST, ENG) –Distribution ( INV, PO, OM) –Self-service (iprocurement, iExpense) –Others ( HR, iStore, iSupport, Service, Service contracts and Quality) –Tools (Alerts, Workflow, OAM, Discoverer, BEPL, Portal, ADI and UPK)

Mar-16 © Silicon Image, Inc. CONFIDENTIAL Why Advanced Planning and GOP Customer service had no visibility into the supply chain Schedule ship date in transit times were manually calculated Promise dates were manually calculated and updated by planning Maintaining schedule ship and promise date was impossible to keep current. Customer service had no visibility into the supply chain Schedule ship date in transit times were manually calculated Promise dates were manually calculated and updated by planning Maintaining schedule ship and promise date was impossible to keep current. All order scheduling was 100% manual The Main goal of our implementation was GOP

Mar-16 © Silicon Image, Inc. CONFIDENTIAL Why Advanced Planning and GOP Discovery Planner Communication to and from planner for promise date requests were from , voice mail and walkup conversations Answers were given in several different ways and had to be given within 3 days or else… If no promise date was provided in 3 days an escalation alert was set to mangers

Mar-16 © Silicon Image, Inc. CONFIDENTIAL Why Advanced Planning and GOP Discovery Planner / Customer support After initial orders promising we only reviewed promise dates if we had yield issues or some other inventory issue Intransit times were manually calculated Bottom Line our order promising process was full of holes, broken and very slow

Mar-16 © Silicon Image, Inc. CONFIDENTIAL Why Advanced Planning and GOP So why go to all the effort for GOP when you can just use ATP??? 1. ATP did not include BOM lower level availability in the scheduling process 2.ATP answer was wrong 85% of the time 3.ATP did not include in transit time from org to org and transit times to customer So why go to all the effort for GOP when you can just use ATP??? 1. ATP did not include BOM lower level availability in the scheduling process 2.ATP answer was wrong 85% of the time 3.ATP did not include in transit time from org to org and transit times to customer

Mar-16 © Silicon Image, Inc. CONFIDENTIAL Implementation Facts Phase 1 (60 Days) Implement GOP and Advanced Planning Go-live with GOP for order booking Keep using MRP for planning and Advanced Planning for GOP Go from 3 days to promise to real-time promising Lessons Learned Ensure APS is solid before you turn on GOP even if your focus is GOP (don’t put the cart before the horse) Test, test and re-test especially after each profile change Keep MRP up and running but only for IT not for planners Schedulers workbench was a great tool for much more than just scheduling Phase 1 (60 Days) Implement GOP and Advanced Planning Go-live with GOP for order booking Keep using MRP for planning and Advanced Planning for GOP Go from 3 days to promise to real-time promising Lessons Learned Ensure APS is solid before you turn on GOP even if your focus is GOP (don’t put the cart before the horse) Test, test and re-test especially after each profile change Keep MRP up and running but only for IT not for planners Schedulers workbench was a great tool for much more than just scheduling

Mar-16 © Silicon Image, Inc. CONFIDENTIAL Implementation Facts Phase 2 (60 to 90 days) Fine tune system and turn off MRP Turn on latest acceptable date functionality Modify Demand Priority Rules Fine tune System Profiles Utilize Demand time fence for some parts Fine tune lead times and other item setups Created custom form to monitor and update promise date issuesCreated custom form Ensure Custom Service can and will trust the system dates Change the perception that every issue was a system issue Phase 2 (60 to 90 days) Fine tune system and turn off MRP Turn on latest acceptable date functionality Modify Demand Priority Rules Fine tune System Profiles Utilize Demand time fence for some parts Fine tune lead times and other item setups Created custom form to monitor and update promise date issuesCreated custom form Ensure Custom Service can and will trust the system dates Change the perception that every issue was a system issue

Mar-16 © Silicon Image, Inc. CONFIDENTIAL Implementation Facts Phase 2 - Lessons Learned We would change profiles and re-test the process we hoped to fix but not the entire flow. This caused issues several times. Item setups are critical make sure to create alerts to monitor them Planners learned that customer service can see into the supply chain and Customer service realized they did not want to be planners Might need to run your plan more often Make sure that if you are using ATP override that you also use material capacity constraints Updating promise dates was not so easy before LATEST_ACCEPTABLE_DATE Critical to order entry speed Phase 2 - Lessons Learned We would change profiles and re-test the process we hoped to fix but not the entire flow. 11Mar-16 © Silicon Image, Inc. CONFIDENTIAL Implementation Facts Upgrade to Plan started to ignore workday calendar for both Make and Buy Items – only an issue in 32 bit systems fix included in RUP 16. Plan ignores the non-std Lot–Based-Jobs – fixed with a one-off patch Plan ignores the profile option MSC: Plan co-products. We have set it to ‘No’ and it works in – not in We use the co-products form for creating BOM’s because of the convenience, but not for planning. The issue is that ASCP planned orders have a high start quantity based on the co-products percentages. Selecting multiple items on the horizontal plan – In there is a restriction of the number of items you can select to view at the same time to 30. RUP#15 solves the problem, by providing a profile option that can be used to set the limit of # of items that can be selected at one time for viewing the horizontal plan.
