LIFE OF HOMELESS FAMILIES Children who are homeless have been exposed to diseases four times more than the average child. Homeless families experience greater amounts of stress. Due to the stress, families separate and have to live with/in shelters, other relatives, etc. Once in shelter, families must quickly adjust to overcrowded, difficult, and uncomfortable circumstances.

STATS ON HOMELESSNESS 1/3 OF THE HOMELESS POPULATION IS FAMILIES Among all homeless women, 60% have children under age 18, but only 65% of them live with at least one of these children. Among all homeless men, 41% have children under age 18, but only 7% live with at least one of their own children.

WHAT WE COULD DO You could help them out on the streets in your everyday life. Volunteer at local homeless shelters.
