Thesis  What are the reasons that some of the DC organizations for homeless are not able to solve the problem?  There are three main reasons that organizations for homeless folks fail.

Introduction  Did you know we have a lot of homeless people in DC?  We see them on the streets often.  We don’t have enough shelters.  The programs here in DC needs to get “back in the game”.  We need to help them and get DC to reduce the amount of number of homeless people.

Part ONE: Limited Space in Shelters  We get so many of homeless people living out on the streets  Why?  Not enough of shelters.  In winter, shelters gets full easily. (Novak, 2015)  DC is working on get several shelters to built for the homeless people.  Will use DC General Hospital as a shelter. (Davis, 2014)

Part Two: Limited number of effective Programs  We do have programs and organizations to support the homeless.  Pathways to Housing is one of the programs that did help with DC homeless people especially with mental illness. (Think Progress, 2013)  Shelters are on the target because there are not enough in DC.  Organizations and shelters needs to progress quickly because homeless people are gaining.

Part Three: Increase in the Number of Homeless People  We get men, women, families, veterans and mental disabilities.  Families are the most important that we should focus on.  Children needs a home and able to go to school to get an education.  They need a better future. (Howard, 2009)  Winter is our concern.  Shelters gets full when the winter comes.  They get starve and hypothermia. (Novak, 2015)

Conclusion  There are so many people in DC then they should…  Start to be a volunteer.  Donate something you don’t need.  Building more shelters in DC will reduce of the percentage.  But I can predict DC can be like Utah.  Utah did success on reducing for the homeless people. (McCoy, 2015)
