Writing a letter to a friend Period One

One or two of our classmates has been abroad in this summer. Now you have a chance to interview him/her. Write down his/her answers. One or two of our classmates has been abroad in this summer. Now you have a chance to interview him/her. Write down his/her answers.

Watch a video, and try to write down the answers.

 Think about what questions to ask and write them down in advance.  Write brief notes only, not whole sentences.  Make meaningful notes.  Use contractions and abbreviations whenever possible. Skills building1: writing down the answers

If you don’t hear or understand an answer, ask the other person to repeat it. You can use expressions such as:  Could you say that again?  Could you repeat that, please?  Did you say… or…?

Moving to a new town or area can be a trying time. You might worry about how you will find your way around, how you will meet people and how you will make new friends. These things can make you feel anxious. Today, social expert Zhang Ying is here to tell you to relax because there are many ways to meet people and make new friends.  What will you do when you meet a new friend for the first time?  What will you do when you meet new neighbors?

And another reason is that… Disagreeing  I’m not sure that’s true.  I see things slightly differently.  I take your point, but…  That’s true, but…  I don’t agree. What about…  Perhaps you are mistaken.
