Self Portrait Collage

Collage - An artistic composition of materials and objects pasted over a surface, often with unifying lines and color

It’s all about…you! Spend some time thinking about what you want to put on your collage Is there a topic you want to focus on? What do you want to tell your viewers? – Try to avoid cliché imagery – Make your piece as unique as you are

Things to consider Color scheme Texture Layering Three dimensional objects Text vs. imagery

How do you start? Completed your brainstorming worksheet and selected your topic. Begin thumbnail sketch’s as to how you envision your layout. Decide on your background. What will you use? What color is it? It is images, type, a mix?? What material do you need? Once background is complete you can start layering the rest of your collage. The more layers – the more involved it will be!

Due dates Brainstorming Worksheet – Tuesday, January 16 th Collage & reflection – Thursday, February 2 nd
