2. How we made the book so far: Made paste paper Measured and cut paste paper to be a little wider than the book board. Cut the corners. Glued paste paper to book board and folded the edges in. Counted nine white papers and folded them individually. Put paper inside each other. Sewed pages together. Glued top and bottom pages to the front and back cover.

3. Friday, 9/13 Objective: Construct a visual journal. Drill Find the journal covers you have put together so far and interior pages if you already have them. Journal parts are on the shelf that is on top of the shelf with your binders.

What Happens Next: Count nine white papers and fold them individually. Put paper inside each other. Sew pages together. Glue top and bottom pages to the front and back cover.

5. To Finish the book Take a piece of canvas strip. Put a line of clue on the edge of the book closer to the spine. Glue the edge of the canvas on the board. Repeat with the other side. DO NOT put glue on the canvas. Write your name with a sharpie on the spine.

To Do: 1.Begin by painting a layer of watercolor on the first page in your journal and allowing the colors to freely mix and run into each other. 2.Decide how you are going to approach the theme “me”. (you may want to use one of the ideas discussed in class or come up with your own) 3.Decide what images you are going to use as your collage pieces and where you are going to place them. 4.Decide what you are going to use as writing. 5.Begin gluing, writing and developing the page using layers of crayons, markers, pen and collage. Grading Criteria: 20 points 1. Your page includes layers of watercolor, crayon, marker, pen and collage. 2. Your page includes writing in letters of various sizes. The letters are used as part of the overall design. 3. You have used the whole page. 4. You have used good craftsmanship in gluing, coloring and putting together the composition. 5. You have creatively responded to the topic “Me” and have used visually relevant evidence to provide proof of your existence. Complete assignment as homework. Due Thursday, September 18.
