Optical art

Have you ever seen Op Art before? Describe what Op Art looks like?

Op art, also know as optical is a style of visual art that makes use of optical illusions. Op art works are abstract. A lot of optical illusion are done in black and white. When the viewer looks at them, the impression is given of movement, hidden images, flashing and vibrations, patterns, or alternatively, of swelling or warping. Op art is a perceptual experience related to how vision functions.

Bridget Riley Born in London in 1931 She studied art in college. Riley began her first Op Art paintings, working only in black and white and using simple geometric shapes – squares, lines and ovals. Can you describe how she drew the lines in her painting?
