Reincarnation Learning Objective: What do Hindus believe about life after death? Is this fair?

Karma Action It quite simply means that our actions have consequences. Positive actions have positive consequences and bring you good karma. Negative actions have negative consequences and bring you bad karma.

Samsara Death Born Atman = soul Hindus believe that everyone has a soul (atman) that survives the death of the body and returns to live again in a new body. Every living creature is born, lives, dies, and is reborn. All life is caught in a circle. This cycle of life, death and rebirth is called samsara. Hindus believe in reincarnation.

Moksha Hindus aim to be released from the cycle of samsara and achieve moksha. Moksha is where your atman joins back with Brahman and you have escaped the cycle of samsara. They do this by gaining good karma. Moksha!

How does karma affect the afterlife?

Samsara and Karma Hindus believe we don’t just have one life but _______________. They believe that every living creature, including animals and plants, have a soul which is called the _____________. Every living creature is ________, then ___________, then ____________ and is _____________________. This is called ______________ This cycle of rebirth is called ______________. Your _________ will affect the __________ of your next life. Eventually the soul will stop being reborn and will join with _______________. This is a Hindu’s ultimate aim and is called _________________. ReincarnationSamsaraBornMokshaAtman DiesBrahman QualityLivesReborn ManyKarma

What evidence? What evidence is there to support this belief in reincarnation? What are your thoughts on this clip? In your groups, throw the green thinking dice.
