REPUTATION Known as a bad god. "You are to me the most hateful of the gods.... REVENGE The King of Thebes, Cadmus, killed the Drakon that protected Ares’ sacred spring. Cadmus was forced to serve Ares for eight years. He then married Ares’ daughter Harmonia. After they had multiple children, Ares turned the king and his wife into snakes.

TROJAN WAR Ares favored the Trojans. HOWEVER, he cared very little about the cause of the war. War was enjoyable for him no matter what the cause. He picked the Trojans after Aphrodite persuaded him. Athena then injured him with a boulder.
