Centralized Settings for Noxturnal  How to manage Noxturnal‘s Default Settings through Noxturnal Administrator mode  How to centralize Noxturnal settings on a network  Centralized settings in Citrix environment

Centralized Settings for Noxturnal  Instructions available on Nox Support site:  Centralized Settings in Noxturnal 3.2 Centralized Settings in Noxturnal 3.2  Centralized Settings in Noxturnal 4.X Centralized Settings in Noxturnal 4.X

Noxturnal Settings

 Default Settings:  Installed with Noxturnal  Only Noxturnal Administrators can make changes to these settings  Can be centralized  User Settings:  Where users can make changes to their working environment  Can be centralized

Centralized Settings

Noxturnal Access Modes  Noxturnal Standard Mode:  Normal start mode of Noxturnal  Only allows changes to the User Settings  No changes can be made to Noxturnal‘s Default Settings  Noxturnal Administrator Mode:  Administrator rights required to run Noxturnal in this mode  Requires a “switch” to be applied to Noxturnal when opening  Allows administrators to apply changes to Noxturnal‘s Default Settings

1)Copy and paste the Noxturnal Desktop icon 2)Rename icon “Noxturnal-Admin” 3)Right click on the icon > properties and append the admin “switch” to the end of the Target field: 4)Right click on icon and “Run as administrator” 5)Verify that Noxturnal is running in Admin Mode Run Noxturnal in Administrator Mode

1)Run Noxturnal in Administrator mode 2)Customize the Noxturnal software (signal sheets, analysis, reports etc) 3)Define Network location for settings to be shared – Create seperate folders for User and Default Settings at the network location 4)Copy/Paste the Default and User Settings to the network folders 5)Point Noxturnal to the path of the network folders 6)Append the following variable to the path to the user settings: \%USERNAME% (f.ex. \\zip\Flutningur\Fanney\Server\User settings\%USERNAME%) 7)Share settings with other workstations Centralizing Noxturnal Settings

There are two ways to share the Noxturnal settings between workstations: 1)Setup the Noxturnal Admin mode on all computers and direct the settings paths in Noxturnal to the network location 2)Export settings to share with other workstations using registry editor – Ideal way to share settings with number of workstations Share the Noxturnal Settings

1)Launch the registry editor (Start > Run> Regedit) 2)Browse to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nox Medical\Noxturnal” 3)Export and save the settings from the registry editor 4)The registry script can be copied to a thumb drive or to a central location 5)Run the registry script on all workstations – Administrator rights are required for that Export Noxturnal Settings

Citrix and Centralized Settings  The setup of centralized settings is the same when using Citrix  The setup depends on the hospital network configuration

 The Default Settings can be modified by running Noxturnal in the Admin Mode on any of the workstations. Those changes will then propogate to the rest of the computers on the network  With centralized User Settings users can move between computers and always receive “their” settings Advantages of Using Centralized Settings

Things To Keep In Mind 1)Copy the files from the original settings folder to the Network location 2)Never delete the settings from the original settings folder created when Noxturnal is installed (C:\ProgramData\Nox Medical\Noxturnal) 3)Store the Default Settings and the User Settings in seperate folders on the Network location (Noxturnal Never change the “Recording Library” path from the original path) 4)Make sure that all Noxturnal users have reading permission on the Network location where Default Settings are stored 5)All changes that should be stored in the Default Settings database need to be setup running Noxturnal in Administrator mode 6)Make sure to select the correct branch for the Registry script before exporting (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Nox Medical/Noxturnal)
