Doreen Smith Chapter 8 Are you ready?

Questions to ask yourself Have I met the right person? Am I financially ready? Do I trust this person? Am I willing to put him/her first? Do I love this person? Do I miss them when we are apart? Do I think of them before my self? Am I willing to make sacrifices? Am I comfortable? Have I met the right person?

Things to discuss with your future companion before marriage.

Finances Each persons current debit Savings Buying habits Budgets Purchasing limitations How much can you spend without consulting your spouse? Credit cards

Sex A taboo topic or not? This is something that needs to be discussed before marriage. There are even classes that you can take as a couple to open the door to questions or concerns you may be having. Be comfortable talking about sex. Share concerns. Talk about what you would like in an intimate relationship.

Children Do you both want children? How many kids do you want? How do you want to raise your children? Daycare, Yes or No? Bundles of Joy!

Goals Where do you see yourself in one year? How about five years? If you have children, how long should you wait? How many children do you want? Do you want to buy a home right away?

Now ask yourself again, are you ready for marriage?
