W HAT ’ S THAT ? This is an choose your own adventure story. That means you get to pick what the characters do. Be careful what you choose. By Holly Hirst

You are listening to your favorite CD. Your little sister is going WILD because she’s so excited for her birthday party. You’re trying your hardest to ignore her when your mom asks, “Will you please take her outside to play?” You really want to keep listening to music and daydreaming, but you know your sister will drive everyone crazy if she stays inside. If you want to ignore your sister and keep listening to music, click here. If you decide you better take her outside to play, click here.

You take her out to play. You notice a door in the tree. It looks like it’s been there forever, but you've never seen it. It has a huge, rusty lock on it. If you decide to force the door open click here. If you decide to search for a key click here.

You try to ignore your little sister. She’s chasing the cat and your mom is chasing her. You can hear her stomping down the hall toward your bedroom. Your door flies open and she leaps through the air. She lands right on top of you with a force so hard your bed breaks. That is the end of your story !

You try to force it open. The door knob breaks and it’s impossible to open.  Now you have to find something else to do to entertain yourself.

After searching for what seems like hours, you find two keys in the overgrown garden. One of the keys is rusty with chips of red paint. The other is blue with a pearly white heart. They both look like they’ll open the lock. If you decide to try the blue key, click here. If you decide to try the red key, click here.

You try the blue key. The pearly white heart seems to shine as you turn the key. When you open the door, it feels like you could crawl in. You think about it. Your sister is so busy in the sandbox, she won’t miss you, but it’s so dark and cold inside. If you decide to crawl in, click here. If you decide to close the door and forget about what could be inside, click here.

You try the red key it works
