Forest Death A choose your own adventure horror narrative By Kenny Dickens and Caleb Henning

The Cabin You awaken to find yourself on a stiff bed in what appears to be a small cabin. Upon a cursory investigation, you notice the windows have been hastily boarded up from the inside, and there are nails scattered on the floor. Someone didn’t want something coming inside. At that moment, you hear the sounds of crunching leaves. Something is moving outside! What will you do? Investigate the sound Stay in the cabin

Waiting… You decide to stay in the cabin, you feel safer in here... Hopefully whatever’s outside won’t notice you. Unfortunately, this is not the case. You hear a loud banging sound as a large object strikes the door. The wood begins to splinter and the hinges begin to creak! Whatever it is, it’s angry and it knows you’re here. What will you do? Defend yourself! Hide!

Defense! You pick up the hammer lying among the nails on the floor. It’s not much, but you have a chance. The door smashes open and a tall masked figure steps through! You brace yourself, He’s coming towards you, and fast. What will you do? Attack him!

DEATH You knew, in the last moments before your imminent demise, that you had made the wrong choice. If only you could go back and try again...

Hide! You scramble under the bed, and face the door. Your hair stands on end and your heart drops in your stomach as you see a heavy boot step directly in front of your face. He hasn’t noticed you yet, but he isn’t leaving the cabin either. You have a sneaking suspicion that he knows where you are. As he turns away to look towards the opposite wall, you notice a hammer lying within arms reach, but still out in the open. He might not notice you for just long enough... What will you do? Reach for the hammer, and attempt to hit him when he gets close. Wait under the bed, He’ll leave eventually.

Attack! You reach for the hammer and he sees you! Snatching it up quickly and hitting him when he arrives, you shatter his leg and he bellows in pain. You sprint out of the cabin and see a forest draped in fog. You don’t think about where you’re going, and run down the first road you see. Continue into the forest

Hiding… You continue to wait under the bed. You realize this is a bad decision when he stomps over and drags you out from your hiding place. Attempt to free yourself

Investigate… You cautiously open the door and step outside, a breeze rolls through and you swear you hear a child laughing. Looking around, you see a forest veiled in mist and a long dirt road beckoning you to continue into the woods. You feel uneasy out here. What do you do? Continue into the woods.Go back to the relative safety of the cabin.

Back inside You turn around to enter the cabin again, but that’s when you see who was making the sounds. The monster smiles with his broken teeth, forming the last image you ever see. Your life flashes before your eyes...

The Forest Tired from moving deeper into the forest, you sit to rest on a log and see two figures standing in front of you. One is an elderly woman, and another is a much younger girl, they appear to be related. Behind them are two doors. The younger girl speaks first, having the voice of a much older woman: “One will never speak the truth” The older woman interjects, with the voice of a young girl: “and one will never lie.” “You choose the door that leads to life,” “or else you’ll surely die.” The elderly woman explains you may ask only one question of either of them. Who will you ask? The young girl The elderly woman

The Girl You ask the girl, “Which door leads to life?” She points to the elderly woman’s door. Which door do you choose? The Girl’s doorThe Woman’s door

The Woman You ask the woman, “Which door leads to life?” She points at her own door. Which door do you choose? The Woman’s doorThe Girl’s door
