On two continents: Africa and Asia. They like warm climate areas because they do not have enough fat to keep them warm in colder climates. They chose where they live based on where the water hole is. Elephants always are sure to be not too far away from the water.

Elephants do not have sweat glands in their skin. They overheat easily To stay cool, elephants constantly drink water, bath themselves in water, love to stay under shaded areas, and absolutely love to take mud baths! Sometimes elephants flap their ears to cool themselves down or use their ears to provide shade for baby elephants.
