ALL ABOUT ELEPHANTS! BY NADYA MCCLOSKEY

2 Introduction My name is Nadya, I chose the elephant because I think they are interesting.

3 BACKGROUND ELEPHANTS LIVE BETWEEN 60 and 70 YEARS. Also an elephant is a mammal.

4 CHARICTERISTICS Elephants trunks are about 7 feet long. An ELEPHANT has very thin fur. The Elephant Has a very small hole in its ear to hear.

5 DIET \ HABITAT Elephants can eat 375 vegetables daily. Elephants eat, roots, grass, fruit and bark. Elephants live in savannas and open woodlands.

6 ADAPTATIONS Elephants have long and flexible trunks that let them reach high into trees to get food.

7 JAW DROPPING FACTS The Elephant is the biggest land animal. Both girl and boy Elephants have tusks and they use them for digging.

8 EXTINCTION INFO Elephants are being hunted for their tusks.
Baby Elephants are predators of tigers, lions, and hyenas.

9 EXTRA NOTES Girl elephants are called cows. Female Elephants start to have babies when they are 12.

10 ONE MORE THING The African Elephant can be split into
2 species the African forest Elephant and the African bush Elephant.

11 YOU NEED TO KNOW Only boy Asian Elephants have tusks and both girl and boy Elephants have tusks.

12 MORE INFORMATION Elephants are pregnant for 22 months. There are 2 types of elephants the African Elephant ant the Asian Elephant.
