The image of the child Following the initial Being Two’s project training, our manager arranged a staff meeting in order to feedback. As part of the meeting we discussed what words we think describe a two year old. The display encouraged our practitioners to discuss the Being Two’s project and also encouraged our parents and carers to ask questions and have their say. The manager then produced a display to explain the Being Two’s project and showcase our chosen words.

Peer observations Having Ben the Bear present while they sang the ‘hello song’ helped keep the children’s attention. The children chose the ‘Dear Zoo’ book to read. The children joined in by listening and sharing. The children made the animal sounds, named them and described what the animals were doing in the pictures. Practitioner Feedback “One thing I would do differently is choose a bigger space for my activity so all the children have a clear view. I am going to use the book ‘Dear Zoo’ as our book of the month and continue to read the book at circle time as the children responded very well to it. This will cover a lot of areas in the EYFS especially developing my key groups personal, social and emotional development and their communication and language development.”
