THE PRIMARY MARK OF A FOLLOWER OF JESUS? The Holy Spirit Living in Them

You, however, are not controlled by the sinful nature but are in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. ROMANS 8:9 TNIV

What does this mean? What is the Spirit’s purpose? The Spirit’s work is to cleanse us and make us the dwelling place of God!

11 But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. … 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? What does this mean? What is the Spirit’s purpose? The Spirit’s work is to cleanse us and make us the dwelling place of God! The Spirit’s primary work is to conform us to Jesus!

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate/reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever–increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18 TNIV
