CREMA Seminar2 Social Identity Theory vs. Social Exchange Theory 1) A differentiation between two approaches is made: social identity theory (leadership) and social exchange theory (management). It is argued that an effective organization is one that has a good leadership and good management. Allan Lind’s stated that “people are best understood as responding to social identity and social exchange motivations simultaneously” How do you see the simultaneous fulfillment of these two social processes?

CREMA Seminar3 How Do the Six Domains in the Model Interact? 3) “The key task in building a successful, useful model of leadership is, we believe, to categorize the various classes of leadership and to describe how each relates to each other.” The various classes of leadership are clearly described in the paper. How do these classes of leadership relate to each other? Are the six domains independent from each other?

CREMA Seminar4 Radical Change 4) Personal Leadership: credibility Relational Leadership: feels that s/he ‘knows’ the leader. Contextual Leadership: action within a setting During a radical change, old values are replaced by new ones. The organization’s deep structure is changed. What implications do radical change processes have on these domains? Is there an identity crisis? Why should the followers trust a person they ‘don’t know anymore’? How could a leader overcome this kind of problem?
