Occupational Therapy Equipment and Software Targeted Audience: TR 8am Class Sommer Antipuna

  Designed for children with sensory processing issues (ADHD, austim spectrum disorder, and dyspraxia; sometimes young children who show signs of developmental delay).   Designed to help kids who have trouble processing sensory information/experience “sensory overload”- when their brains have trouble processing many sensations at once.   This therapy uses repetitive exercises to help a child experience touch and other sensations more accurately.  Can be fun for kids because it resembles playtime; kids encouraged to play with balls and clay, may be asked to bounce, swing, or spin or special equipment.   Therapist gradually makes these activities more challenging and complex; through repetition the child’s nervous system will respond in a more “organized” way to sensations and movement.   Sometimes therapy is paired with balance treatments or movement therapy – obstacle courses, throwing a ball, and standing on a balance board. Why Sensory Motor Therapy Works

Equilibrium Board Model: # Description: Non-slip cover cushioned rocker, Rectangular (28”L x 28”W x 7.5”H small; 28”L x 56”W x 7.5”H large), Hand holds on recessed side to eliminate pinched fingers Purpose: Encourages rhythm, balance, coordination, & vestibular responses. May use by sitting; when child develops confidence, may use by kneeling or standing. Source/Where to Buy: South Paw USASouth Paw USA Use/Value: Sensory Integration and Motor Planning & Balance  : $ (small) - $ (large)

Moon Swing Model: #0140 Description: Exceptionally durable: ring connection point reinforced for extended wear, two inserts for different motor planning possibilities (one is soft, fine bi-foam material that gives client a swing with a changing consistency and requires more difficult flexion patterns; the firmer insert allows client to stand, kneel, or do complicated riding activities), easy mount and dismount for clients, extra long soft gooseneck to help child hang on. (18” dia. x 48” L and 200 lbs. work load) Purpose: Addresses bilateral coordination, balance, strength, and vestibular input Source/Where to Buy: South Paw USASouth Paw USA Use/Value: Sensory Integration & Vestibular Activities  : $275.00

Steamroller ramp: (86”L x 30”W) Platform: (32”L x 31”W x 52”H) Rollers: (8”dia.) Working load: 300 lbs. Purpose: Offers clients sensory stimulation, heavy work, bilateral coordination, and motor planning all in one Source/Where to Buy: South Paw USASouth Paw USA Use/Value: Sensory Integration  : $880.00

IN-FUN-ITY™ CLIMBING SYSTEM Model: # Description: Includes: Wall Ladder (climb up or down as part of an obstacle course, or swing toward the ladder and try to grab a rung), Scooter Board Ramp (consists of 2 parts-platform and ram), Rope (each rope has a built-in loop for easy attachment to wood rung), Climbing Wall (36 handhold locations and comes with 20 climbing holds), and Crash mat (fits each overhead section and provides 6” of thick polyurethane foam cushioning).
