Structure of the product

Anticipation of economic change as regards restructuring operations in transnational companies Theme

Training based on  sharing,  practice,  action.

Target groups Trade union representatives in companies, in areas in sectors  and sub-contractors for the activity from the same transnational company from two different countries

Aim Define a transnational action plan Promote the implementation of transnational social dialogue

Reasons for the choice of method   Involve all parties concerned in one single action  Encourage the use of new forms of European collective bargaining and social dialogue

Reasons for the choice of method Better integrate national and European policies into transnational restructuring processes, Give substance to social Europe and make it more visible  Create new methods of consensus that are vital for future stages of European construction.

Structure of the product

Expert involvement:   National legal frameworks and practices with specific examples   European directives   Trade union strategies  Group work per sector of activity, a range of nationalities in order to:  Transmit and compare their company's situation  Share information on their means of action  Work together to draw up an action plan on transnational social dialogue

Strengths of the product Integrated approach: company, area, sector and sub-contractor representatives Knowledge of practices Creation of a specific action plan Sharing information, analysis and expertise

Weaknesses of the product Subsequent follow-up is desirable for the operational implementation of the action plan Success depends primarily on the consistency in selecting the target groups. Necessary re-adaptation of the module depending on the specific nature of each target group (sector of activity, economic situation, country, and so on).
