Transfer students

Here, at Penn State Harrisburg Based off of Fall ApplicantsAdmitted applicants Enrolled applicants Men Women Total

Purpose of our study. Each year thousands of students either transfer from school to school, or make a change of campus. The three of us came from different campuses We wanted to find out who is a transfer student, where and why did they transfer And, what they think about being here at Harrisburg.

Gender & Age Of those who were surveyed: 75% were female and 25% male % % % %

Where did they come from? Only 25% of those surveyed came from another Penn State campus 44% transferred from another college/university

Why PSH? 44% came here because of their major 6% because of finances 6% because they did not like previous campus 6% because they came from military 38% did not transfer

Where do you live? Everyone who we surveyed, transfer or not live off campus.

Was transferring easy? Of those who did transfer many thought their transfer was average. 25% 19% 13% 6%

So which campus do you like more? For those who transferred, 63% prefer PSH than their previous campus/university With 19% liking their previous location

Every college student has to eat right? When asked if they enjoy the food services here on campus: 69% said yes they enjoy it 6% said their old campus was better And 25% said they do not eat from the campus food services.

Study study study!!! With having one of the largest libraries throughout Penn State, we asked how would you rate PSH’s library? 5=best 1=worst

Activities We asked on a scale of 1-5 what do you think of the activities here on campus? 5= 19% 4= 25% 3= 37% N/A= 19% 5=best, 1= worst

Let me tell ya bout my best friend… We wanted to know how easy or hard was it making new friends? 37% 13% 19% 6% 25%

Conclusion Many students at PSH are transfer students. Most are here because of their major The transfer process was not easy nor hard People here like the food services Harrisburg’s library is pretty good As are the activities offered here And finally, it was not hard making new friends here.
