READING TEST SESSIONS Session 2: This session contains two or more passages of equal length. Each passage has ten multiple-choice questions; one of the two passages has an extended-response item. *Note: Questions in Session 2 were written by Illinois educators*

READING TEST SESSIONS Session 3: *There is a new format for session 3 of the 2013 ISAT reading test.* Session 3 contains 2 sets of paired passages, for a total of 4 passages. For EACH set of paired passages the students will read 2 passages, answer (MC) questions using only the 1 st passage of the pair, then answer (MC) questions using only the second passage of the pair. There may also be 1 or more (MC) questions based on both passages.

READING TEST SESSIONS Session 3: (CON’T) The extended response question will be based on the second set of paired passages. Student’s may answer the extended-response question using only the 1 st of the paired passages, only the 2 nd of the paired passages, or both passages of the second pair.
