Project Overview  Part 1 - Your Ideal Cell Phone Plan  Part 2 - Cell Phone Plans on a Budget  Part 3 - Comparing Cell Phone Plans  Part 4 - Picking a Plan that is right for YOU!  All parts will be displayed on a poster.

Project - Part 1 Ideal Cell Phone Plan  After graduating from high school, you have received a gift of an unlimited cell phone package for one year. You will create your own ideal cell phone plan with options such as text messaging, information download and picture capabilities.  Things to consider: your average talk time, text messages sent, and data usages you currently use per month, or think you would use per month.

Ideal Cell Phone Plan Requirements  Individual plan only  Waive the activation fee  Cost of the phone with brand and model of phone  Monthly costs:  Number of talk minutes/cost per month  Number of text messages/cost per month  Usage/Cost of data services (web, , etc.)  Monthly phone insurance  Fees for overages on both talking minutes and text messages. (If any.)  Calculate the total cost for the plan for one year.

Cell Phone Companies  You must choose one of the following companies:  US Cellular  Sprint  Verizon  AT & T  T-Mobile

Part 2 Budget Cell Phone Plan  Your gift of one year of free cell phone usage has now come to an end.  Since you are living on your own, you need to stick to the budget you set for yourself. After evaluating your current financial situation, you believe you can afford up to $60 for your monthly cell phone fees.  Being the smart shopper you are, you have decided to compare three plans. You will then see which on is the best deal.

Budget Cell Phone Plan Requirements  Individual plan only  Waive the activation fee  The cost of the phone can be no more than $.01.  Monthly costs:  Number of talk minutes/cost per month  Number of text messages/cost per month  Usage/Cost of data services (web, , etc.)  Monthly phone insurance  Fees for overages on both talking minutes and text messages.
