JOSE GONZALEZ WINTER 2010 Excessive Texting

Project Overview Introduction Descriptive Statistics  Histogram  Line Chart  Box Plot Results Conclusion

Introduction Problem: I’m being over charged in phone bill Hypothesis: I believe excessive texting occurs in weekends Data collected/Sources: Cell Phone Bill

Texting by hours/day

Box Plot

Average Texts Used Per Day

Results My findings measure exactly up to my expectation. I do tend to text more on weekends. I also found a slight increase in night usage on weekdays that can be reduced as well One factor that contributes to the excessive variation in the weekend is that I have more free time

Analysis/Conclusions/Summary Result: Excessive texting occurs in the weekend I believe I should try to cut my text message usage on weekends by instead using my minutes to communicate with others. Hopefully because of this project I can better distribute my text message usage evenly throughout the week and cut my phone bill in half.
