Course Curriculum Details Course Duration : Three years Credits earned Certificate Course (20 credits) Diploma Course (40 credits) Master’s Degree (66 to 80 credits) Curriculum Development Expert Group and Accreditation Group of Skill Area Specialisation Experts drawn from academia, government and industry in each of skill areas as well as competencies, will develop curriculum in specific specialisations. This group will also evolve criteria for course delivery, assessment and accreditation. Once the curriculum is finalized by the Specialization Expert Group, it will be placed before the Academic Council of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) for approval. Expert Teachers Enrol a large pool of experts from academia, industry, government and civil society who are willing to take course modules including lectures, tutorials and field work.

Second Phase of Courses: Health Care – micro insurance Agriculture Extension Services, Marketing Construction Livelihoods Promotion with forest resources Community Development Rural Entrepreneurship Banking – service linkage, entrepreneurship Food Processeeing Notes: these industry areas were determined based on TISS Research of industry demand and student aspirations, they still need to be validated by local partners and can be adjusted as needed.

Outcomes from the Pilot Phase The target is to enable university students graduate along with a Diploma in a vocational skill and competency with capacity to enhance their life situation and also emerge as transformational leaders; During pilot phase, plan to expand to cover all colleges and universities to cover several million college graduates.

Outcomes from the Pilot Phase Cutting-Edge Curriculum in a range critical skill areas Demonstrated cutting-edge curriculum in a number of critical areas and delivery methods in colleges and universities in remote regions generally providing education to students from rural areas The areas identified are critical because initial core modules enhance capability, personality, confidence and thus employability of young graduates in arts, science, commerce, humanities and social sciences (which enrolls 80% of all students in the university system).

Outcomes from the Pilot Phase Cutting-Edge Curriculum in a range critical skill areas All modules (available in print, audio, digital and video forms) are to be publically owned and accessible to all universities and colleges.

At the end of the course, students will acquire a sense of involvement in the community development that enhances entrepreneurship and well-being. The Overall Repositioning Pilot Programme is aimed at: Awaken agency of Youth to be responsible citizens Position Youth as Agents of Social and Economic Transformation Gain Sustainable and Relevant Employable Skills & Competencies along with their degree to find work after graduation
