STAR is also…  Warren County’s progress monitoring tool for 8 th grade  Assessment that continually measures progress of students in identified areas  Reading  Math  Not all 8 th graders take it

Who takes STAR?  Students not meeting benchmark on the Universal Screener  What’s the 8 th grade Universal Screener?  EPAS (EXPLORE, PLAN, ACT)  Benchmarks?  “College Readiness Benchmarks are the minimum ACT test scores required for students to have a high probability of success in credit-bearing college courses.”  Reading: 15  Math: 17
