The boy in the story which is William. Has a housekeeper named Mrs. Phillips. And when she’s moving to England, William is sad. But she is moving back to England because she misses her brother a lot, and she’s homesick. So William does not want her to leave so he takes the 2 things she really cares about which is a picture of her husband that died in World War II and her mom’s pearl circle pin. He hid them somewhere so she would not find them.

The Next day Mrs. Phillips can’t find her 2 things. She is very sad and wonders where they went. Williams parents walk up to him and ask him if he had taken them or know where they are. He said he didn’t know where they were, even though he secretly knows. Then on Friday afternoon after school he put back her 2 thing and when he turned around and saw Mrs. Phillips in the doorway, neither spoke. After the silence Mrs. Phillips said she had a surprise for William and she would show it to him on Monday afternoon.

On Monday afternoon he went to his house and jumped into his house. He was really excited for the surprise. When he came home he went to Mrs. Phillips. To ask for the surprise. She said to follow her. So he followed they went into the attic. The thing was to big to wrap though. When he saw the surprise it was a castle.
