PAIN ACTION CANADA Update on the national campaign May 21, 2015

Background It's time to make pain management a priority in Canada. PAC is dedicated to moving pain up the national agenda so policy and funding will move forward.

What we see Three things need to happen to advance the pain agenda: Public relations – We need to shine a light on the issue and make it public. Government relations – We need to be in the right conversations with the right ask to influence policy and funding. Stakeholder relations – We need to create a strong and united voice with others on this issue in order to move the agenda.

Where we are in the process We're developing a national campaign and action plan for better pain management in Canada. Early funding for our current work came from Purdue, Pfizer and Tweed. We have had an initial presentation of the recommendations, and expect to finish this phase shortly. We look forward to sharing the recommendations and plan with you in the next six weeks.
