Dracula - the vampire Ceausescu - the tyrant Hagi - the football player

The land of Dracula What do you know about Dracula? He was a blood thirsty vampire and cold blooded murderer

Nothing more than myths… Vlad the Impaler, was 15 th century Romanian Ruler. He was ruthless in the defense of his land. His way of dealing with enemies was to impale them. This was a very cruel and sadic technique and brought him a dark name.

The land of Ceausescu You may already know that.. Ceausescu was a Romanian dictator executed on December 25 th His regime killed innocents, restricted the freedom of speech and made the people suffer

The land of Ceausescu Probably you don’t know that Ceausescu opposed the soviet invasion in Czechoslovakia in 1968 and Romania was the only Warsaw pact country that did not participate. He was seen as a pro –western communist leader as he met both Nixon and Carter in the USA

The land of Hagi The football fans may know that.. Gica Hagi is considered by many the best Romanian football player of all time. He scored from 45 meters a goal in the 1994 World Cup Game against Columbia

The land of Hagi But you probably don’t know that His ethnicity is not Romanian and he grew up in Constantza (My home town)

Part two T he C ountry of Mountains and Souls

mountains One day I left the walked path For a new one. There I saw things only children’s eyes can still see... Emerson, Nature

I transformed into a huge eyeball Reacting to every new image and color

The horizon magnified

And suddenly new paths opened before my eyes

And I said: “ God, You built that Dome in the air “

“ For me to enter your temples of fire… “

“...your temples of ice…”

My country has no boundaries to tie it to the ground. My country is wherever I go. Because spirits are everywhere

Thank you!
