Bergen Community College © Wow! I thought there was no link between teens watching television and committing real violence, but preliminary research showed I was wrong!

Bergen Community College © Issues & Controversies cites studies linking television violence and teen violence! Looking at the American Psychiatric Association Website made me rethink my thesis! Skimming tables of contents and chapter titles made me see that a lot of experts connect watching TV violence with committing real violence!

Bergen Community College © REVISED THESIS: There IS a link between teen viewing of violent television and teens committing violence, so... (solution).

Bergen Community College © I should research solutions for the problem! I’ll see what the psychologists say about how TV affects behavior! Jamie revises his outline.

Bergen Community College © Revised Outline I. Establish seriousness of teen violence and the role of watching violence on TV in causing it. (Give thesis here.)Give thesis here II. Present research findings. III. Explore teen psychology/show how violent TV makes teens violent. IV. Consider possible solutions. V. Draw conclusion(s).

Bergen Community College © Now Jamie will read his sources more closely to find specific proof for his revised thesis and take notes.
