Explain the problem to solve and its context –You might have to refer to prior related works –You can already use visual aids Introduce the three papers –Give the authors’ motivations and main contributions in layman’s terms for each paper –Present very shortly the main authors and labs (optional) 2 Introduction

If relevant you can include 1-2 slides on the technical background (it has to be important to understand the context or the papers) It can be a famous algorithm, a mathematics or physics equation, a computation / optimization technique, a program functionality or design etc. Do not repeat something seen during the lectures 3 Technical information

For each paper describe the method, its evaluations and experiments Indicate its advantages and limitations Do not spend too much time in details, but the audience has to understand how it is done Try to illustrate as much as possible and give possible applications Organize the presentation of the three papers in an order so that it’s easier to compare them 4 Paper content

Summarize the presentation and your findings –e.g. impact of the respective papers on the community There is no demonstration, but it has to be clear by now how it works and what are the possibilities Indicate possible solutions to the drawbacks Possibly give your personal opinions You can indicate if you plan to implement a part of a paper for the assignment –if so, indicate exactly what you will use and why 5 Conclusion

A Q&A session follows the presentation Answer clearly and to the point You can prepare few extra slides to help you to illustrate answers to questions you expect 6 Questions
