Psalm 103 A psalm of David Applicable at all times in life A psalm that reminds us to not forget God!

Bless the Lord, O My Soul Bless the Lord – a word meaning to kneel before and to speak well of

Bless the Lord, O My Soul O my soul – David is speaking to himself. A personal reflection All that is within me – with our complete being. See Mark 12:30 Cf. Matt. 6:6

Bless the Lord, O My Soul Forget not all His benefits – Blessings, Eph. 1:3-14, etc.

Bless the Lord, O My Soul Forget not all His benefits – Many blessings – Forgiveness Eph. 1:7 – Healing diseases – Redeeming life – Crowned with loving-kindness & mercy – Jas. 1:17 – Mouths satisfied – Matt. 6:11

The Lord is Righteous (6-13) He executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed T ypical cf. Jas. 1:27, Ac. 20:35 He made known His ways to Moses … God has revealed His will – cf. Rom. 3:1-2, 2 Pet. 1:3

The Lord is Righteous (6-13) His mercy (forgiveness) – Merciful and gracious – Slow to anger 2 Pet. 3:9, Rom. 2:4 – He will NOT always strive with us – Jer. 31:34, Heb. 8:12 – Note: But He does have limits.

The Lord is Righteous (6-13) His mercy (forgiveness) – He forgives abundantly – treats us better than we deserve! Cf. Luke 15:20 Pet. 3:9, Rom. 2:4 – His mercy is as great as the heavens, our transgressions far removed, pities us as a father – Those who fear Him! 1 Jn. 1:6-7, 9

He knows man(14-18) He knows our frame! – He does understand us Psa. 139:1-2, Heb. 4:13 We are temporal - dust Eccl. 12:7 - grass 1 Pet. 1:24 - wind Isa. 40:7, Jas. 4:14

He knows man(14-18) God is eternal – from everlasting to everlasting, righteousness to children's children 2 Thess. 2:13-14 – NOT unconditional – those who fear Him - Matt. 10:28 obey - 1 John 2:3-4, 3:24

Bless the Lord (19-22) A call for all of creation to exalt Him His throne established 19 Angels bless Him (20-21) Bless all His works – everything He does is worthy of praise!
