Introduction Evaluation Task Conclusion Teacher’s Page Procedure Geometry is Everywhere!

INTRODUCTION Look around the room. Do you notice all the different shapes? I’m sure you see squares, rectangles, circles, triangles, and many more. Shapes are all around us. Every object has it’s own shape. Shapes are the relationship between lines, which we call GEOMETRY! M

TASK You will be able to name some of the many different types of shapes! You will then practice this knowledge with a memory game, in which you will be identifying each shape. Lastly, you will design an online book, using “bookr”, made up of these shapes!

PROCEDURE  Step 1: Click here see the different types of shapes. This is also where you can memorize the names of these shapes!here  Step 2: After learning the names of these basic shapes, you can practice your skills with this matching game!matching game  Step 3: Next you can watch this video to see how shapes are all around us!video  Step 4: For our activity, you will be creating an online shape book, using “bookr”! In this book, each page will contain the name of the shape, a picture of the shape, and an example of this shape in real life! here is where you can find pictures to use as examples in your book!here  Here is where you will create your book. Create a username and password and you can get started! Here

EVALUATION Your geometry “bookr” will be graded as followed:

CONCLUSION  Great job everyone! As you can see, there are many different types of shapes. These shapes surround us everyday. I hope now you take the time to look around and explore the different shapes that are around you!
