Background 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Gorkha, Nepal on 25 th April 2015 at Gorkha, Nepal. 8,956 people lost their life including Nepalese and Foreigner. Most of National Heritage Sites are completely damaged. Major governmental buildings were also damaged. 22,000 + people were injured. Objectives The major objectives of the project is constructing a theme park to demonstrate losses due to Gorkha Earthquake for future generation: More specifically, this is research project that focuses on: Constructing a memorial park in name of departed souls. Plant and grow one tree in name of one departed soul. Construct smaller models of heritage sites describing the damage that occurred Establish a learning center and museum presenting major disasters in Nepal. Implementing Organization Youth’s UNESCO Club shall be responsible in coordinating and implementation for all activities for the project. Duration & Timeframe Duration of the project will be 2 years. Earlier 6 months in research for land selection, Project planning and preparing Detailed Project Report (DPR) Next 6 months for construction of physical Infrastructure Plantation of trees will be done after construction of physical infrastructure. Monitoring and reporting Modalities Youth’s UNESCO Club shall establish internal monitoring mechanism to ensure project is moving on good track. If project is seen to be deviated, internal mechanism will alert and find any faults. Internal monitoring mechanism team will submit its regular progress to partner organization in bi-monthly basis.
