Principles that guide Community Mental Health Practices  Services should be accessible and culturally sensitive to those who seek treatment  Services should be accountable to the entire community  Services should be comprehensive, flexible, and coordinated  Continuity of care should be assured  Behavioral health care needs to be holistic- personalized to meet the needs of the individual  Prevention and early intervention are the most essential services provided  Treatment providers should utilize a multidisciplinary team approach to care National Council of Behavioral Healthcare, 2012
