Preservation Districts 21 overlay districts- each regulated by either the Commission or the neghborhoods which they protect 6 historic and 15 conservation

Historic Districts Six in total Follow the Secretary of the interior’s standards for historic interventions Each district has its own design guidelines and specific architectural features that are maintained such as awnings and sinage in the Braodway District

Any pre-existing transoms should be left intact according to Nashville’s standards

Neighborhood conservation distric 15 overlay districts, much like the historic overlay districts Design reviews are implemented with neighborhood set guidelines Locally designated and administered by MHZC Permits are necessary for building new structures, additions, demolition, and relocations
