UNIT 10 Rina’s Pet

Construct 3 Pupils will be able to blend phonemes into recognisable words Construct 4 Pupils will be able to segment words into phonemes

Focus : Listening and Speaking Learning Standards : 1.1.1 Objectives : Pupils will be able to blend phonemes into recognisable words Pupils will be able to segment words into phonemes Phonemic word list : cat, rat, bat, hat. KSSR word list : catch, name Materials : hat, picture cards, letters, worksheets

OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to blend letters and segment the words

SET INDUCTION Get pupils attention by showing a magic show and ask the pupils to guess them. There are somethings in this hat. Who can tell me what it is. Teacher pulls out one by one the picture cards from the hat.

PRESENTATION Teacher sings a simple song. Sing sentence by sentence Pupils listen attentively. Ask pupils to follow with correct pronunciation. Sing together

PRACTICE Teacher shows the blending activity. Hat h……at Cat c……at Bat b……at Rat r…….at

PRACTICE Group the pupils into 3 / 4 groups. Give sentence strips to the groups. Teacher reads a sentence , pupils listen and pick the correct sentence.
