Presentation transcript:

The main and most important water resource of our region is The Ergene River basin. But unfortunately it has been subjected to a high level of chemical contamination caused by both, industrial plants in and around the basin, and by the waste water from the towns and villages in the region.

It starts from the east of Istranca Mountain range. Then it takes another small stream-Paşa Stream and flows into the direction of south- west.It flows past the town Çorlu from north and takes two small streams-Marmaracık and Kütüklü there. In the north of the town Muratlı it meets with the river Ergene.During summer time the level of water is very low,in winter the level of water increases because of the rain fall and snow.
